Unions were formed so working people would have a voice. Union jobs provide a decent way of life, even uplifting, nonunion jobs, so employers can keep employees. When Republican administrations move in, union jobs disappear, lowering the standard of living for all but a few. Retirement programs are fading. Insurance through employment has been gutted. I hope people think of this when marking their ballots. Vote for the Democrats, including Carolyn Long, who will work for all parties.
