Letters: Willing to work

Carolyn Long has taught civics at WSU, Vancouver for more than 20 years. As part of her work, she has taught her students communication skills which enable them to facilitate positive discussions between people with opposing points of view. Her dedication to respectful, constructive dialogue is the primary reason that I am supporting her congressional campaign.

It is my opinion that the general unwillingness of both political parties to work constructively with each other is the single largest problem facing the country today. Carolyn has the skills and temperament to be a part of the solution. Other problems will not be successfully addressed until we elect leaders like Carolyn who are willing to listen to opposing points of view and find compromise solutions that are broadly supported by the public.
